Friday Session I
“Lean” is a production system invented by Japanese automakers that minimizes waste, increases efficiency, and maximizes value and profits with less work. The lean system can be used by any size and type of farm to boost profits with less work. Hear how The Lean Farm author Ben Hartman has applied this system to make a comfortable living growing organic vegetables on less than an acre.
Ben Hartman is the author of The Lean Farm. He and his wife own and operate Clay Bottom Farm in Indiana, where they make their living growing and selling specialty crops on less than an acre. The farm has twice won Edible Michiana’s Reader’s Choice Award.
