Friday III – 4 p.m.
Urban farmers are required to possess a broad range of skills and knowledge- everything from how to grow healthy plants to marketing, sales and distribution to how your farm fits into the community. Whether the goal of your farm is to make a living selling produce, to engage neighborhood youth, or provide nutritious food to your community, everyone benefits by having the healthiest, most productive plants possible. This session will provide an overview of the unique production aspects of urban agriculture. Two experienced urban farmers will also present their farms and strategies for overcoming challenges to urban production.
