Saturday Session I

Pruning is critical to maintain the health of any orchard, and helps reduce insect and disease pressure. Learn the science of pruning and training trees. We will compare summer and dormant season pruning, and discuss approaches to pruning different species and different varieties of the same species.

Thaddeus McCamant began working in orchards at age 10, and has picked fruit, pruned trees, and worked with fruit growers in several states plus West Africa. He has been working with Minnesota fruit growers for the past 16 years through the Minnesota Farm Business Management program.
