Roger Blobaum, Blobaum & Associates
Saturday III – 4 p.m.
Roger Blobaum photographed, surveyed, researched, and wrote about pioneer organic farmers in the Midwest in the 1970s. His power point presentation will include photos of these pioneer farmers, describe their practices and values, discuss their attempts to interest universities in organic research and extension, and describe how they shared information and overcame institutional barriers. It also will describe how they mobilized public support for state organic laws and programs and how they worked with consumers in establishing organic markets and third-party certification.
