Friday Session III

The next farm bill is just around the corner—now is the time to prepare to defend, strengthen, and create key programs and policies that benefit organic producers. Learn the latest on policies related to conservation, research, crop insurance, certification cost share, organic transition, and more. We’ll also discuss key opportunities, anticipated challenges, and ways to encourage federal policy that best supports organic production systems.

Alyssa Charney works for the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, a grassroots organization based in Washington, D.C. that advocates for federal food and farm policy reform. Her scope includes working lands conservation programs, climate, and farm to school.

Abby Youngblood directs the National Organic Coalition (NOC), which works to advance organic agriculture in the federal arena and to protect the integrity of the organic seal.
