Learn how to prepare good records and how to use them to manage your business effectively.  We’ll cover available methods—software, record books, and professional services. We’ll show you how to use good records to develop sound financial statements and make informed business decisions.

Paul Dietmann manages beginning farmer and emerging markets loans for Badgerland Financial, the Farm Credit System association in southern Wisconsin. He worked for the state for 16 years, including a stint as Wisconsin’s Deputy Secretary of Agriculture in 2010. He is co-author of the book Fearless Farm Finances: Farm Financial Management Demystified.

Kay Wiemer is a Sr. Farm Accounting Specialist with Badgerland Financial, part of the Farm Credit System serving southern Wisconsin. Kay has served as a Sr. Farm Accountant for 19 years, processing and preparing financial records for farmers in her area of Buffalo, Trempealeau and Jackson Counties. Kay, along with her husband and 3 children, run an organic dairy farm near Arcadia, Wis. They milk 100 dairy cows and have 500 acres of organic crops marketed through Organic Valley, CROPP Cooperative.
