New crops that can perennially produce grain and forage are under development as soil improving options for organic row crop and livestock farms. Perennial wheat and intermediate wheatgrass (Kernza) uniquely improve water quality and soils, plus they offer the potential for multiple products, both forage and grain. This will be the first opportunity to learn how perennial wheat and Kernza preform in the field in Michigan where we have been growing them since 2006. We also offer a facilitated discussion on how to integrate perennial vegetation (cover crops, forages and perennial grains) into your current farm plan.
